Rise up from the ashes. Fly like a phoenix.
April marked the official launch of Here & Heard, a powerful new platform amplifying survivor voices through poetry, art, writing, and spoken word. This month, we featured two written pieces and one video submission — each offering a bold, vulnerable, and honest reflection on identity, healing, and truth-telling.
From raw reflections on financial trauma to calling out the dangers of abusive therapy dynamics, April’s entries remind us why this space matters. Here & Heard is not about extracting stories. It’s about reclaiming voice, honoring autonomy, and celebrating survivor-led creativity.

In this compelling spoken-word piece, trauma recovery coach and survivor Lisa Ceizyk shares a vital message: therapy should never be a place where survivors are retraumatized. Drawing from her personal experiences, Lisa challenges the harmful notion that healing can occur alongside an abuser. She emphasizes that true healing requires safety, autonomy, and support that honors a survivor's truth.
Lisa founded Worthy Woman Healing, a platform dedicated to helping women heal their minds, bodies, and souls one trigger at a time. She empowers survivors to reclaim their worth and find peace through coaching, retreats, and her podcast.

“As a survivor, my childhood was different.
My meanings of family, love, and my purpose
Were colored in shades others never knew,
Echoes of truths whispered in shadows,
Lessons no child should ever learn.
I had to unlearn the stories taught to me,
Where my worth was weighed in silence,
In rooms where secrets blurred lines
Between affection and exploitation,
And love was twisted into knots of fear.
I had to learn that my body is not a commodity,
Not a price tag to barter, nor currency to spend,
That the reflection in the mirror holds more
Then fragments of trauma and shame,
That I’m stitched together with threads of dignity,
Deserving of kindness, softness, and care.
I had to discover I’m more valuable than sex,
More than transactions cloaked in whispers,
I am laughter, courage, dreams, and resilience,
A tapestry woven with strength and vulnerability,
An existence radiant with possibility.
I had to believe I’m just as important
Like everyone else sharing this space,
My voice is a melody equally worth hearing,
My story is a chapter as meaningful,
My presence is powerful, needed, and seen.
Today, I reclaim each stolen piece,
Redefining love in tender truths,
Rebuilding family from chosen bonds,
Finding purpose in healing and hope,
Learning every day that I am whole,
That my worth is endless, undeniable, my own.”
