Rise up from the ashes. Fly like a phoenix.
Welcome to Survivor Source,
a survivor-led organization founded by a leader who transformed lived experience into collective empowerment and change.
Our mission is rooted in the belief that survivors should never have to rebuild their lives alone. Survivor Source began from lived experience — born from the challenges faced navigating life after exploitation, from recovery and identity to rebuilding community and purpose.
Recognizing the gaps in support and understanding, Survivor Source was created to connect survivors with real, accessible resources and opportunities for growth.
Today, we serve survivors nationwide through:
A continuously updated directory of survivor-centered and trauma-informed organizations.
Professional and leadership development through the Survivor Career Community (SCC).
Peer support and creative expression opportunities that honor voice and story.
Collaborations and advocacy that help systems reflect survivor wisdom and inclusion.
At Survivor Source, we believe that healing and leadership can exist side by side — and that when survivors lead, systems change.
Lara K is the founder of Survivor Source and leads the Survivor Career Community (SCC).
A survivor leader, strategist, and advocate, she combines lived experience with professional expertise to build trauma-informed, survivor-led systems of change.
She also serves as an Associate at The Woolf Group, advancing inclusive, ethical, and survivor-informed approaches to leadership and policy.
Survivor Source partners with organizations nationwide that serve survivors of human trafficking and exploitation — building a trusted, survivor-vetted network of support.
Our goal is to make it easier for survivors to find safe, compassionate, and effective services — and to ensure that every resource listed has been personally connected with our team.
Our state-by-state resource hub is regularly updated with organizations offering housing, mental health services, legal aid, education, advocacy, and more. Each partner is added only after a conversation with our team to ensure their work aligns with trauma-informed, survivor-centered values.
Survivor Source envisions a world where survivors can access every kind of support they need to rebuild and thrive.
From basic needs to career development, we’re building a network that reflects the full range of what healing and empowerment can look like.
If your organization serves survivors and shares our commitment to safety, dignity, and empowerment, we’d love to connect. Schedule a brief conversation to share about your work and explore how we can collaborate.
Music can be a powerful form of healing.
Soundtrack for Success is a survivor-curated playlist created to uplift, inspire, and empower — a reflection of the resilience and creativity within our community.
The playlist features songs chosen by survivors and allies across the country, intentionally inclusive and free from violent, sexual, or religious content.
It’s a space for shared strength and self-expression — a reminder that healing doesn’t always look clinical; sometimes it sounds like your favorite song.
