Survivor Source is a survivor-led organization connecting survivors of human trafficking to community, resources, and professional development.
What began as a simple directory has grown into a national movement built by survivors, for survivors. We help survivors build skills, grow their networks, and find opportunities that support long-term healing, leadership, and empowerment.
Through projects like the Survivor Career Community (SCC) and collaborations with survivor-led and ally organizations, we’re creating spaces where lived experience drives solutions and systems change.

Survivor Source is a survivor-led organization created to help survivors access practical resources, community, and opportunities as they build what comes next.
Survivor Source began from lived experience and from recognizing a gap that often exists after immediate services end. Rebuilding a life can involve much more than recovery. It can mean returning to school, entering or changing careers, rebuilding confidence, navigating professional environments, developing new skills, creating community, and figuring out what you want your life to look like moving forward.
Survivor Source was created to make that process feel less isolating and to connect survivors with information, opportunities, and people that can help.
Today, our primary work is the Survivor Career Community (SCC), a survivor-only professional development community that brings survivors together for practical conversations around career growth, education, decision-making, communication, workplace challenges, stress, boundaries, navigating change, and personal and professional development.
SCC also creates space for members to exchange resources, opportunities, knowledge, and experience with one another. Meetings may include professional development topics, group discussion, guest speakers, reflection, or resources that can help members take their next step.
Survivor Source continues to share relevant educational, career, and professional development opportunities when available and to collaborate with individuals and organizations that can bring meaningful value directly to the survivor community.

About the Founder
About the Founder
Lara K. founded Survivor Source to create practical, accessible resources and opportunities for survivors navigating education, employment, professional development, and life after exploitation.
She continues to lead the Survivor Career Community (SCC), a survivor-only professional development community focused on career growth, decision-making, communication, education, navigating change, and building a life that extends beyond survival.
Professionally, Lara has intentionally expanded her career beyond the anti-trafficking field. She serves as a Partner at TWG Strategy, a business consulting and government relations firm, where she works with leaders and organizations to solve complex problems, strengthen strategy and execution, navigate government and stakeholder environments, and move ideas toward measurable outcomes.
Her work spans organizational strategy, business development, government relations, execution, and human performance. She is also pursuing a master's degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, bringing a deeper understanding of how people, systems, motivation, and organizational structures influence whether strategies actually succeed.
Survivor Source remains an important part of Lara's work, but it represents one part of a broader professional path centered on helping people and organizations move from ideas and challenges toward practical, sustainable outcomes.

Soundtrack for Success is a survivor-curated playlist created to uplift, inspire, and empower, a reflection of the resilience and creativity within our community.
The playlist features songs chosen by survivors and allies across the country, intentionally inclusive and free from violent, sexual, or religious content.
It’s a space for shared strength and self-expression, a reminder that healing doesn’t always look clinical; sometimes it sounds like your favorite song.
